PSI Code of Professional Standards and Ethics

As a Certified Professional, I will subscribe to Professional Standards Institute's Code of Professional Standards and Ethics. I will establish, maintain, and promote high moral and professional values. I will maintain the highest level of Professional Competence, Conduct, and Integrity.

Professional Competence

• I will be committed to maintain the highest level of proficiency, knowledge and expertise in my profession.

• I will continuously seek to keep current in my profession through education, training, experience, and professional societies.

• I will always be safety conscious. I will strive to protect the health, safety, and welfare of others in all my professional dealings.

• I will share my knowledge and experience with others in my profession to contribute to its growth and development.

Professional Conduct

• I will not misrepresent myself or my abilities.

• My conduct will be beyond reproach at all times. I will not knowingly place myself or others in any questionable position or situation.

• I will not conduct myself in a manner that would bring discredit upon myself, others, or my profession.

• I will avoid all situations where there may be a conflict of interest.

Professional Integrity

• I will accept full responsibility for my work and actions, and of those under my control.

• I will be responsible, ethical, honest, sincere, loyal, and objective in all professional situations.

• I will support and follow all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

• I will use and manage all resources and authority entrusted to me in a proper and appropriate manner.

• I will protect privacy and confidentiality whenever appropriate.

• I will respect the intellectual property rights of others, such as trademarks, copyrights, patents, and licensing agreements.
