• Professional Level: Certified Professional Business Project Leader
  • The Certified Business Professional Project Leader is a skilled and competent project specialist that can plan, initiate, execute, lead, control, close, and lead a business project and team.
• Senior Level: Certified Senior Business Project Manager
  • The Certified Senior Business Project Manager is a manager with advanced skills in planning, initiating, executing, managing, controlling, and closing, and lead multiple business projects and teams.
• Master Level: Certified Master Business Project Administrator
  • The Certified Master Business Project Administrator is an executive with subject mastery in planning, initiating, executing, managing, controlling, and closing business projects, and administer project management departments with multiple business projects and portfolios.

The skills and competencies listed below are required for all levels of certification, unless specified otherwise. The skills and competencies needed for the certification in Business Project Management include:

Professional Level:

• Create a business project management plan.
• Create a business project risk plan.
• Develop a detailed business project work breakdown structure.
• Create an effective business project schedule.
• Make accurate business project estimates and balance a project.
• Create a business project communication plan.
• Effectively initiate and close a business project.
• Take and utilize appropriate business project measurements.
• Resolve common business project problems.

Senior Level:

• All competencies at the Professional Level above.
• Research, analyze, and solve complex business project problems.
• Analyze and develop modifications to business project plans.
• Effectively assemble and lead business projects and teams.

Master Level:

• All competencies at the Professional and Senior Levels above.
• Plan and manage organization business project portfolios.
• Design, plan, and administer project management departments.

  Phase 1 Eligibility Requirements

To determine your eligibility to apply for certification in Business Project Management your experience and education must meet the minimum requirements below.

Specific Eligibility Requirements:

• Professional Level
  • Three (3) years of relevant experience
    • If you have an associate degree, technical/career certificate/diploma, or higher, only two (2) years of relevant experience is required.
  • 25% of required experience must be within the last 5 years
• Senior Level
  • Five (5) years of relevant experience
    • If you have an associate degree or technical/career certificate/diploma, only four (4) years of relevant experience is required.
    • If you have a bachelor's degree or higher, only three (3) years of relevant experience is required.
  • 25% of required experience must be within the last 5 years
  • Must have 1 year of project lead or supervisory experience
• Master Level
  • Seven (7) years of relevant experience
    • If you have an associate degree or technical/career certificate/diploma, only six (6) years of relevant experience is required.
    • If you have a bachelor's degree or higher, only five (5) years of relevant experience is required.
  • 25% of required experience must be within the last 10 years
  • Must have 1 year of project lead or supervisory experience
  • Must have 1 year of managerial experience

Important Eligibility Notes

The following are specific experience and education requirements:

• Experience:
  • Experience must be relevant.
  • The experience requirement must come from US-based companies.
  • If you are an independent contractor or consultant that perform project work and not fully employed, you can submit individual industry projects. The project work must equate to the amount of required work experience.
• Education: (college degree, technical/career certificate or diploma)
  • Must be in a relevant field.
  • The education requirement must come from U.S. based institutions.
• At this time we do not accept international applicants. We do not have international offices or staff.

Relevant Fields for Education Requirement

Your college degree or technical/career certificate or diploma must be in one of the following fields or similar fields.

1. Project Management
2. Program Management or Engineering Management (must include one course in project management)
3. Business Management or Administration (must include one course in project management)
4. Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Management (must include one course in project management)

  Phase 2 Competency Requirements

Once your eligibility has been determined in phase 1, the next step is to complete the Competency-Based Assessment in your certification field, Business Project Management.

Phase 2 Activities

1. Submit Assessment and Certification Fee
   • Professional Level: $295
   • Senior Level: $395
   • Master Level: $495
   • Veterans and First Responders receive a 20% discount on certifications.
2. Competency-Based Assessment (AI Design Assisted)
   • Complete and Submit the Competency-Based Assessment
   • Peer evaluated based on Assessment Rubric
3. Feedback Provided and Recommendation Decision
   • You will be provided feedback for your Competency-Based Assessment submission.
   • Competency-Based Assessment evaluation results:
     • You will have earned your certification when you pass the assessment!
     • If it does not meet the certification standards, you will be able to re-work and re-submit your Competency-Based Assessment.

Requirements to Pass the Competency-Based Assessment

• Complete and submit the Competency-Based Assessment.
• Meet or exceed all of the requirements provided for the Competency-Based Assessment project.
• The submitted project work must demonstrate the appropriate level of skills and competencies for the certification.
• The submitted project work must be professional and demonstrate industry quality standards.

  Certification

After you have successfully completed both phases, you will be awarded your certification in Business Project Management! You will receive your certification certificate by mail and documented on your Professional Career Portfolio.
